Press Release Regarding the Suicide Attack Perpetrated in Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan
No: 35, 2 February 2016
We have learnt with great sorrow that at least 20 people including civilians were killed and approximately 30 people were injured in the suicide attack perpetrated against a police station yesterday (1 February) in Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan.
We strongly condemn this heinous terrorist attack targeting peace and stability of Afghanistan. We wish God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, convey our condolences to their families and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.
No terrorist act can be justified. It is unacceptable that some circles willing to have a say in the future of the country commit acts of terrorism which harms the Afghan people. In this respect, we hope that all parties contribute to the efforts of strengthening peace, stability and prosperity in Afghanistan and in the region, armed struggle against the Afghan State and people is ended and reconciliation is ensured through negotiations.
